Performed by XTC 1st Studio Album

It's the airwaves of the world
Not the hairwaves on your head
When you've got Crosswires
Everything is Buzz Buzz
Everything is Beep Beep

I felt my hairs standing on end when I walked under all these wires - I may have cooked a few brain cells :-)

I saw your dialogue on the article. The real danger is NOT believing your instruments no matter what your senses tell you. Avionics failures even in GA aircraft are very rare and a good cross reference will tell you all you need to know to figure out which instrument has gone wonky. But that aside, a close second is the danger of transitioning to VFR when you should stay IFR or failing to go IFR as needed when you are VFR. I can tell you the most telling comment in that article for me was the illusion you get trying to fly VFR between layers - very dangerous. But you also have to be quick to go IFR when you realize you have no reference to ground. I recall departing on a clear moonless night off Toronto Island westbound for a left hand turn out over Humber Bay. As soon as I was nose up, in a second I was over Humber Bay and there was nothing but black everywhere (normally with some cloud or haze you get the bounce from the city lights) and immediately had to go to instruments to maintain climb and complete the turn onto downwind for a climb out departure. Not regulation and technically "illegal IFR" but absolutely necessary.

Well I thought I meant two top tens but I'm beginning to wonder :-)))

Jade - Thanks for the good wishes - I've already started making some Irish Coffee but will save the char and bun for another day. Believe me I'm not challenging Thomas, I am just trying to follow in his giant footsteps.

Since you also have two in the same household - have a Timmies on me on top of your filing cabinet :-)

I did! Two top tens in the same household. They'll be a celebration tonight! (Have a tea and crumpet on me, LOL!) More seriously, you made this work but I keep feeling you are channeling a certain Swedish photographer! I get so confused!

Thanks for all the comments, they are much appreciated. Re the white (wood) tower on the right - I felt I had to include it since it was the reason for the crossed wires. So happy that many liked the processing - not something I normally do but I think it spiced it up a bit :-)

An interesting treatment! Makes the viewer take another look at what would normally be mundane. The towers look cool. The partial whitish one on the far right makes this feel out of balance though. The dark brooding colors and the fiery reds at the bottom give me a sense of December 21, 2012. --- could this be a glimpse of the near future?

    Stark and dramatic.

Really processed looking, however it worked well with this shot. The patterns and the colors mezmerize me!!

Unusual perspective - The solarization really makes the towers and wires stand out.

fc - Thanks - no hair problem but my brain seems to have gone missing - few will notice :-)
hifi - Very much appreciated especially in view of the competition.
Jade - Thanks - the explosion is simply the clouds in the sky - but I think you knew that.

Effective due to the high contrast and negative image effect really highlights the truss patterns. But the light explosion at the lower end and pole on the right add both interest and distraction.
