You're so right Jade - I'll post the original in the outtakes - you'll see what I really had to deal with!

Tough subject you tackled here. Everything screams great photo opportunity until you put the camera to your eye and try for framing and composition.

Yes, I must admit this turned out to be more difficult than I imagined. There was no better angle, and there was also a powerboat that distractrd terribly. I left the gull in, as I thought he added something, but in retrospewct, the picture might have looked cleaner without him. I'll have to clone the little fellow out and see what happens.

Really like the "idea" behind this, nice dappled shade on the canoes and leaves, wish the little white thing on the deck wasn't there (bird? anchor point?)

good use of the angle and framing with the tree branches. also gull attracts the eye to the edge of the lake

One of my favourite subjects, lines of colourful boats, and, speaking from experience, one of the most difficult to execute. I've yet to get a shot of these that I am satisfied with. Here, I would want as clean a background as possible so I'd avoid the tree, the things in the water, the opposite bank and the distracting gull on the boardwalk. Easier said than done, I know. I'd probably move to a different angle and find even more in the background and lose the angle on the boats! Top ten.
