Wonderful effort, wonderful shot, and great finish! This belongs in the pantheon of great Michael shots and really would not look out of place in any book of photography.

I can't thank you enough for all the comments. I am very happy that so many of you liked the shot. I was very nervous about the B&W conversion as I've not done much of that.

I have a special affinity for this old bridge ever since it was saved from demolition by public outcry. Engineers and Architects were slathering at the mouth in anticipation of a contract for a new bridge. They did build a new one downstream and from the same vantage point you can see the result. An uninspired, grubby, rusty, concrete and steel blot on the landscape - did I mention I don't particularly like it :-)

Thanks again for commenting. I pay close attention to each one and learn from them all. Not sure how it will look on paper but I will get it printed.

a marvellous, moody, misty monocolour ! ;0)) Good work, don't need to say anything else as it is obvious even to me - TT.

I very much like your composition and choice of black and white. The black areas are not too dark, they frame the scene beyond. I like how the eye is drawn to the left and then all around the image.

I like the composition of this one. Works well in black& white

Very nicely composed. I think the lack of color works well in this image. The starkness of the bridge and its reflection is striking.

This is awesome - You've transformed this simple railway bridge into a work of art.

Nicely done! High in my favorites, the only issue I have is the blown highlights in the sky. The perspective and details are all top-notch, love the skyline and reflections.

B&W was a fantastic choice here. I love the velvety blacks that also manage to retain a hint of detail, to give the bridge extra shape. I'd hang this on my wall for sure!

If I were to record this I wouldn’t change a thing. I like the perspective, good processing, and the use of b&w.

Only one other entry came ahead of this in my voting, but otherwise - this is an excellent shot. You have captured the mood perfectly - the exposure and angle is spot on. This will score very high.

Something about reflections in this Challenge but this is in my top two picks. Very powerful and vying for first place. Nice job.
