Wow, thank you! I had a good outing that day and got several decent hummer shots and this was my best. As Steven mentioned, I really hated the white flower blocking the tail, but didn't have enough of the tail showing to try to clone. I may give it another try. Thank you again everyone!

    ysal,
I was thinking this kind of shot is impossible in a non-DSLR camera. You proved otherwise!!

You kicked me out of the Top 3 by one point! But a well-deserved point it was, as this is an excellent shot.

Hard to believe this was shot in program mode. Those panasonic cameras have come a long way. Nice work on this!

Amazing shot - beautiful colour and clarity. I can barely track these little guys with my own eyes, let alone with a camera!

Love this shot, very high in my faves! Super focus, natural framing, lively colors, great subject. The only thing I'd look at is the white smudge on the hummer's tail, it might be possible to clone that out as it distracts (just a little!) from the lovely subject.

Superb image, the sharpness of the body yet with the blur of motion of the wings, great composition. High favorite and good luck.

These are not easy at all and you've got a great capture - love to know the back story of how long, how hard, how many frames. Got my vote!
