I remember when you bought the Nikon D300, you dropped out of the panny forum, it was a sad day. :)
Sorry to hear about your GF1, but glad to hear about the Olympus, that's supposed to be a killer camera.
Since you still have the Nikon, get yourself a Nikkor MF lens and join us in this thread:

I'd love to chat more. Hope to see you there!

leighton w, how are you? I do recall our converstation on DPR. I don't visit there much these days. I now know why that rural scene was so good. It was something you specialised in even then. Yes my FZ30 has moved on to my daughter, still getting nice shots of my grandson out of it. I am now a non Panasonic shooter as my GF1 fell and died on the hard rocks near this shot, about an hour before this shot in fact, and with the insurance money , and a few extra dollars, I went for an Olumpus OMD-E5.

This photo really grew on me throughout the voting - that's the sign of a great shot. Congratulations.

This is a great shot Rafael, the composition and post work are second to none.
It's good to see you again. You and I used to chat some time ago on the Panasonic thread on DPR. I've long sold my FZ-50, but there are times I wished I had it back.

Thank you all for the comments.
This is near the top of Mt Buffalo, Australia, in the Victorian alps. The trees are snow gums. These eucalypts have lingo tubers that help them recover from bush fires. You can just make out the bushy growths at the base of a couple of them. That is 6 years growth.

The lighting in this is superb. It's amazing how much detail you can get in a monochromatic photo.

Well I would have composed this differently for sure . . . and I would not have got anywhere near this :-) That's one thing I love about this site - I keep on learning. The light on the trees is fantstic too. Great stuff!

Dramatic mountain scene still showing the effects of the fires. B & W works well with this excellent composition and lighting. Excellent work.

Good contrast, nice composition. One of my favorites.

Excellent - b&w gives it a bit of moodiness, I love the flow of the composition.

Unbelievably good - I say that given I don't think I'd ever had the vision to see the possibility if I had been there with camera in hand. Great photographic vision.
