Didn't get to comment on this one before the voting ended, but reading Mepo's suggestion sounds like a good idea. I'm sure this would have moved up several places with a sharp rendering.

Now I see the problem - it was composed by a committee :-) One point of interest for me was your choice to have the figure leaving the frame where the accepted norm is always to have people looking or moving into the frame. In this case it works well. With her big strides she is saying 'I'm outta here!" I like it!

I think this would have done a lot better if it wasn't a little soft. With that shutter speed there shouldn't have been any camera movement but there obviously was. I suspect you might be pressing your shutter release - that's a sure fire way to get camera shake. If you think it may be the problem then I would suggest you practice 'squeezing' the whole camera with your right hand until the shutter works. What happens when you 'press' your shutter release is that the whole camera pivots in you left hand and that blurs the picture. So squeeze the camera like you would a grapefruit and you will get sharper photos.

I love the colors and the path looks interesting. The overall image looks to be blurry to me. Was it really windy?

RBG Cranbourne - Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne

This is the site of the Australian Native gardens at Cranbourne in Victoria where this photo was taken. It is a beautiful area of 15 hectares.

The reddish brown earth in the background is an area dedicated to the plating of desert plants which grow in this incredibly dry but beautiful earth.
That earth was in and out of the photo like a yoyo when try ing to decide to admit or omit it. Family and friends were consulted and in the end we decided it was too green and bland without it, and it added balance. I can see it from the other side too, fork candles.
I arrived at the gardens with only half and hour to take photos and no time to erect the tripod which might account for some camera shake. However these trees have very fine foliage which also tends to give it a filmy look.

The figure was cloned from another part of the photo which has been cropped.

Mepo - can't you find Waldo? You'll have to keep looking!!

Good move on the added figure. I had a "where's waldo" going for a moment there. I hope you will tell us more about the scene. I'm surprised it isn't sharper especially given the speed and aperture. Perhaps some camera motion?

Whatever you cloned it was a wise choice as was adding the figure.

I sense the who image needs to be sharper.

the bright browns spoils the overall green effect

Interesting landscape with good texture and colour contrast. The figure is a needed addition, without it I wouldn't have had a clear idea of the scale. Strong horizontal composition, softened by the intriguing winding path.
