Thanks for the positive comments - no idea how fast it was going, but I sure was glad I wasn't in front of it!

Great capture, Lo! This is truly an awesome image! How fast would you say that train was going? WOW, and another top ten finish! Good for you!

Top 10! Still an iconic image.

I have to admit that I love trains. Their brute strength is so impressive. I took this one with a tripod, a few feet from the track, just where the road crosses. When the train passed, I couldn't believe the force of the wind.

Jade, I did try very hard to straighten the image - used rotation and perspective, but no matter what I did, it still seemed to be off.

This is really awesome. I like the you've caught the train with the structural interest around it. I can't think of anything I'd change. This is a sweet shot!

A great pathway. I hope you moved quickly after taking the photo! I'm feeling nervous just looking at it.

The sharpness belies the speed of the train. Love the position of the train on the bridge, I would have had it past the bridge but this is better. Level crossing - that's a limey term isn't it? We don't have 'level' crossings in North America - every one of them will rip the undercarriage off your charabanc if you're not careful.

As train shots go, this is pretty good and very Canadian. This is one where the camera may well be level (the train looks straight) but the truss appears to be leaning in a pronounced way so I would have risked the rotation to correct the apparent distortion. Nice control of colour and exposure. Your RAW skills are becoming more apparent.

Godo train shot. Like the heat haze above the engine in contrast to the snow on the ground

Had to place a Canadian image high on the list. No I placed it on merit. Certainly high on my list. Well done.
