Not Caufield's After Lunch       ©2013 kerszkavet
Panasonic DMC-FZ150       4th place, 96 points
1/59s, f3.2, ISO 125, 25mm, Aperture Priority, Center Weighted Average, no flash

Post-Processing: bit of a rush job, so not finished properly:
PSE11 Glowing edges filter, converted to B&W, then inverted. Burning and dodging to increase contrast and line thickness. Painted out any grey areas. Eraser so the bus layer was visible. Original picture re-processed with lighting adjustment, and eraser used to bring this out for the plant. Some lines drawn back in where lost during processing.
Extra Info: Patrick Caufield's After Lunch is the inspiration. I even borrowed the blue.

The plant in the corner is a bit of a mess, and given time i'd come up with a better result.

Very nice - to be honest, I think yours has more appeal because of the strong contrast between the colour of the bus and the line drawing

For a rush job you did very well. Another shot where I like yours better than the original. Especially love that the bus is so red - great against the blue.

Thanks for bringing Caufield back to my attention. Creating a work like this, with juxtaposition of the two techniques is something I'd like to explore too. Very nice! (and the plant in the corner does it for me - I like the bit of abstraction it brings).

I like yours better, but the lack of a human figure hurts it a bit since the point of interest moves from inside to outside despite the colour. Very faithful to the original concept.
