Congratulations on a great finish. What a beautiful sight to see, let alone have the opportunity to photograph.

Wow, thank you so much for your votes!!!! I did not expect this.

Thanks to you all, I learned a valuable lesson during this challenge. I shot several shots of this subject this day. I then selected what I thought was the best and applied PP on my small laptop and entered it in this challenge. After reading some of your comments, I went back and reviewed all my shots on a good large monitor and, to my horror, I realized I did not select the best of the bunch to enter in this challenge. There were others where the bird was in better focus and the entire shot better exposed. I will have to remember to do all my editing on a real monitor in the future.

What a lovely photo. So tranquil and wonderful for the theme.

    Very nice, my first choice.

Great choice of subject for the theme, however, a larger DOF would have been a way to get good focus on the bird and rock formation.

This would easily have made my top picks if 1) the heron(?) were in tack sharp focus and 2) the background rock wall wasn't so overexposed.

Is that a Blue Heron? I like your composition, just think needs a little more pop.

Nice capture and well titled. I think the photo would have had more impact with a tighter crop.

I'd suggest a tighter crop, especially from the top. Not sure how you trained the heron to stand in exactly the right spot but it's perfect even if a little fuzzy. In my top picks for sure.

Nice capture and good contrast. The bird is well defined.

Even though the Heron is slightly out of focus, the concept and composition is first rate. In my top 5.
