Could have ranked higher - but still a nice result!

OMG - I thought Color Efex was a plug-in that you could use to achieve psychedelic effects. I never would have thought that this was natural. Makes it even better IMO. Congratulations!

Thanks for all the comments and votes.

Mepo, I should look for a made in China imprint, might be onto something :-).

mrsawyer - I posted the original in the Outtakes thread.

I'm pretty sure you could sell this hinge on EBay if you could make up some weird history - maybe decorated my Mao himself when the first piece of hardware was produced from his home forge program.

This is so pretty it deserved to rank! Fine effort in photography - I think the arguably more tenuous connection to theme kept a few votes away.

I like the diagonal presentation and the vibrant colores here. I would like to compare the colors here with your original in the outtakes please.

Really stretching to get to the open theme but it is attractive enough to make the grade for me. Top 5.

Lo - You always give such nice comments, don't think I have had criticism from you even once! Not sure what you mean by special effects, these are hinges that we use at work on screens, for screen printing. These are paints and inks from years of use, I used Color Efex to give a bit of a colour boost, works better than saturation in Photoshop.

Normally I'm not a fan of special effects like this, but here it just works! I really like the bold colours, and the way the imperfections in the hinge stand out.

eagle1 - it's a "hinge", mostly used on doors fo opening and closing.

a little bit of a stretch for the theme but i see your connection. love the colors and focus. this would have been tops in the 'abstract' theme a while back. will probably still find its way into my favorites. good luck.
