Sony SLT-A55V       1st place, 199 points
1/8s, f3.5, ISO 100, 30mm, Normal Program, Pattern, no flash

Post-Processing: Added color to B&W image, corrected perspective, adjusted levels, minor sharpening, and resized for web.       Extra Info: My memories of having fun in the winter involved sledding down our street with all the other kids in the neighborhood. We spent hours sliding down the hill and walking back up. The memories bring a big smile to my face :-)

This has everything going for it. Your choice of monotone reinforces the representation of a memory. I don't think it could be improved upon. Perfect representation of a memory that should resonate with many.

the use a of a tone in the picture works to define the 'old' look. would have cropped square as the LH side has no interest in it

Good choice in color toning and texture. Enhances the happy reminiscence sentiment.

I'm assuming this was on snow? My boys and their friends slid down grassy banks , or sand dunes, on pieces of cardboard. I can visualise the fun you must have had on snow.

This certainly brings back memories of long winter snows and having fun going down the hills and hope we didn't run into the trees at the bottom of the hill. Nice tone to the shot to give the since of older times. Thanks for the memories!

Really love the sepia treatment. It brings out the grain of the wood, and really adds to the nostalgic effect. In my TF for sure.

Sepia toning suits well to this kind of historic picture. Nicely composed. In my favorites.

Nice image; I like the color tone and contrasts. Where I grew up, snow never fell. Our sleds had wheels instead, but I still like this image and the feeling it conveys.
