I have been away for a few days so had no time to comment through the challenge. Thank you all for your comments. I found this challenge very difficult but at least I learnt about ND lenses.

Nice take for this challenge, its to bad the chains have to be in front of the pendulum. Still in my top 5.

Beautiful clarity on the weights and wood, and the movement of the pendulum is great.

great photo. lovely tones and structure, and well cropped. just enough detail and blur on the pendulum.
brilliant interpretation and execution of the competition theme.

Well exposed, nicely toned, and composed, but I'm not a fan of the blurred pendulum.

I love the detail and the fact that you were able to capture the full travel of the pendulum. It must "tick" off each second!

Great idea for the challenge! I like the lighting and focus. I also like the way you captured the pendulum. There is a very slight lean to the left, most noticeable with the weight on the right. In my favs.

that is neat. i tried a few of a second hand on a clock but didn't really make the point unless i went for maybe three seconds.
might have still worked if you got the whole clock in this too.
