    Thanks for comments, all!

Jade O and Mepo: The building is built on a hill so I made sure the planks were parallel to the frame, but, alas, still did not quite achieve the appearance of "levelness" I attempted.

I think this really needed more room on the right (and possible less on the left). The whole mill seems to be falling over as so many elements lean in that direction. I realize, given the siding at the top that the image is straight but the perception persists. Love the subject matter and the water is absolutely perfect especially with the blanket of leaves. Interesting that your image proves the wheel is running true (otherwise the rim would show a second image). Is the power being used or is this just for show?

Flowing water is a classing element in long time photography. Good work, in my favorites.

I really like this photo - just enough blurring in the water to show movement, and the static parts are really sharp. Great exposure to arrive at those warm colours.

Almost surreal scene which looks (I can't be sure if it is) off level. Beautiful colours and textures.

elliott - The light coming off the water to right of the wheel was so bright, it was completely overblown. An alternate point of view would have been to stand in the stream, but I did not want to get wet! (Mepo probably would have dared to even lie down in it, but I digress.) Not having time to try to fix the overblown water, I opted to exclude it from the frame, which meant including more of the left part of the building.

forkcandles - I used the FZ50's Slow-Sync flash feature, which I suppose is like 2nd curtain.

the use of flash [ i presume 2nd curtain] works well with this one picking out the spokes

spokes... schmokes. what i like is the water in the foreground that looks like some other element.
the upper left quadrant is weak compared to the rest of the composition. perhaps a different framing would integrate the elements better. just my opinion.
in my favorites.
