This photo was taken in the reptile house at Healsville Sanctuary. The camera was hand held against the glass and set on auto. The lizard was enjoying the warmth of the lamp. Thank you all for your great comments.

Cool lizard. Was taken in a container? The light color is a bit off.

Good focus, lighting, and color. Was this handheld at 1/8s ? Kudos! In my favs.

Very nice detail, and the colours are so vibrant. Am I right in assuming that this is part of an exhibit with artificial lighting?

If you did this through glass it is an excellent photo. The lizard is so unusual too. More information please.

I'm surprised you caught anything at 1/8s. Remarkable definition for a live subject at such a slow speed. That said, this does look a lot like a terrarium (artificial) display so if the equipment and conditions allowed, I would have tried to get closer for a full frame head shot. Everything around the lizard looks too artificially coloured for my liking.

Nicely done. Good colours, nice sharp eye!

Very nice, I always have a hard time capturing behind glass shots, usually end up with a reflection of some sort but your entry is well taken considering lighting conditions especially with reptile tanks.

I like the environmental feel. I know it is shot in a aquarium of sorts but it is an appealing background for the lizard. I visit the reptile house a lot and getting a good shot is much more difficult than it would seem in my experience. I hope to hear your experience and some information about this image.

the lizard is to small in the picture and the back ground too large
A tighter crop would have had the lizard across the picture and not part of it
