Thanks for the extra info. That is one camera I find very attractive, especially the tilting eye piece although I hear the rubber eye cup is a must-have accessory. I have great difficulty with lcd backs in sunlight even after I put shutter doors on them (aftermarket). The detail and colour in your shot are fantastic and Kudos for your capture. 5 frames a second sounds very impressive! I would have been proud to have taken this shot!

Thank you for all your encouraging comments everyone!

This was shot at a small man-made lake adjacent to a water treatment center. In the winter the place is full of migrating birds but only a few herons are there in the summer time. I followed and watched this small green heron for a very long time until I was able to recognize his body language when he was about to strike. The rest was matter of waiting and firing off a bunch of shots in burst mode. I was 10 - 15 feet above him on an embankment. I did not have a tripod but was able to secure the camera against a solid object. This was shots with my GX7 (which I just got!) and 100-300mm.

Nice sharp capture of the bird and his catch - I like the diagonal composition.

What a great capture. Look at those eyes!

Terrific clarity, composition and a telling peak into the bird's day. I might have cloned out the distracting yellow leaf.
