.... Yes, that would have worked as a title, lol! I agree. I immediately got the sense that this guy rose up from behind that ridge just as you described and the lighting and magnificent pose makes this one of your best, I thought. (Mind you, I was one of a small group of three doing a walking safari in a reserve in S.A. in January when we were surprised and charged by a black rhino. Rare to see and rarer to emerge unscathed. It was one of those experiences that is seared into your memory and this image immediately brought that to mind. It is a good photo.)

Jade: Actually, I thought it would make TT as well. When he came strutting out of the woods, I was like a kid in a candy store. The way the light hit him was perfect. You must get that certain "feeling" when you get a great image to capture, right? Well, Jeremiah made my day! The only reason I can come up with for it not making TT is the title wasn't a single word, and there was a lot of controversy about that.

    Lovely portrait of Jeremiah.

Love the massive feeling that you captured. Right on theme and beautifully composed

good point of view (from lower) makes this wooly creature appear even more prehistoric (like some extinct species found in a natural history museum). Colors bit too saturated for my taste though.

Wow! Nice horns! You have it all here, subject, framing, presentation, colour and sharpness, but most of all lighting. I would have been tempted to add a subtle vignette or graded filter to darken the overbright grass which pulls my eye from Jeremiah (and clone out that foreground branch which chops off his legs).

What a beauty. I'm not sure I could shoot such a sharp shot with Jeremiah staring at me. Those horns are magnificent. Composition and dof perfect. Well done!

eagle1: Thank you for your comments. This is a Scottish Highland bull who adapts very well to all environments. This pasture was recently cleared by the owner, who also left areas of dense trees and low growing plants so the cattle could have some shade and freedom from biting flies.

Nice job with color rendition, focus and lighting. I like how Jeremiah stands out from the background - although for some strange reason, to me the background doesn't seem to fit where, in my imagination at least, a bull should be found (I'm thinking: dusty range, pastureland . . . something like that)! Still, well done photo.
