thanks for the comments all. Yeah, a rule breaker with regard to the proportion of negative space but I wanted the figures to appear diminutive and a minimalist quality to the image. What I did not want (and you are correct JO) was their softness; an error on my part. I was planning an experiment and camera set at f/22, but this shot suddenly came up...and at f/22 diffraction degraded the resolution. Yup Elliott, only a big print will work with this baby. Good choice for a challenge tvsomething.

Well done on 2nd place, glad it did well for you, when you have all that negative space your eyes are only drawn to one spot and that is the subjects. Awesome!

Good shot - can't get much closer to the edge than this! Intriguing contrast between the left-facing figures thatare mostly static and the right-facing ones that are more animated.

Like the idea and the execution. The large empty space is what makes this work so wonderfully but I'll bet you'll get lots who think the large space was too much. They are wrong! Lol! But I do wish the figures were sharper.

Really like the idea - but find that there is just too much blank space

Nice silhoeutte - I can never spell that word! Extra credit for being very much on theme.

Veery dramatic and effective. Right on theme.

I'm sure you're aware that convention would suggest less negative space but you've chosen to make this more original. It works for me.

very on theme in my favs
maybe a crop on the rh to make the last person walkout of the frame ????

You clearly brought attention to the bottom edge of the image, but at the expense of any sort of balance with the negative space. I think a pano cropping would work better.

I like this idea and it certainly fits the challenge theme. I only wish the figures were a bit larger.

This is my top pick, dynamic with all that negative space!
