Post-Processing: Cropped
Adj tones and colors
darken lightened center

Extra Info: I smudged a bit of Vaseline on my lens, then I panned slowly down to get the intentional blurred lines, using a slow shutter speed.

Does it matter? Apparently everyone can take their own interpretation of everything and be right, lol!

@Jade O & @ Mepo- You're kidding about the vaseline on the lens cap, right?
LOL, so stupid, sorry I meant the lens protector. BTW there was very little of it left by the time I took this photo,so it was hardly worth mentioning.

@ Jade O Congrats on snaring third!
Snaring, dictionary meaning - Something that serves to entangle the unwary.

Hmm not sure how I should take that one :)

Congratulations - nice to see the result of a technique that is new to most of us

Congrats. Now I need to know why you grease your lens cap (it obviously wasn't on the camera - just kidding LOL)

Lovely atmospheric image. Feels like a memory recalled.

I like the composition, and the blur created by the vaseline. Because I tend to equate the impressionist movement with brighter colours, I find this sombre, but that on its own doesn't detract from the overall effect

@ mrsawyer I hope you didn't put the vaseline directly on your lens, as I read it can damage the coating on a lens!

Oh I should of been more precise, I put it on my lens protector.

Looks impressionist to me! Don't like the leftward lean of the couple. Odd that the picture in general does not have the leftward lean. In my favs.

48 minutes ago I like the effect from the camera movement. This appears to be a parent/children shot so I would expect happier tones. The canvas appearance of the water is particularly attractive.

It was very overcast at the time, and was just about to rain.

Vaseline on yer lens....... living dangerously try stretched black tight or use a UV filter for the Vaseline you can check the image more easily

Do your best impression of the impressionistic art style. This fits the topic well but also looks a little more like blurred image than art style simply because it is missing

The appearance of quickly painted surfaces.
The appearance of short brushstrokes.
Separating colors and letting the eye's perception mix them.

As a photo, I like the "feel" and tone.

Great photo - the dark colours, the lamp posts (that are looming over the figures) and the black spikes all give a brooding sense of danger. The lack of sharpness and the shakey blurs give the image an uncertain nighmare feel. Reminds me a little of 'The Scream' by Edvard Munch.

I like it and I like that you didn't use a Gimp or photoshop "art" filter like a few did.

Interesting composition that captures my attention and effectively blurred to look "impressionistic". I hate to say this, because I know it is probably a matter of personal taste only, and doesn't necessarily reflect on the quality of the image, but the only thing I don't like is the color tone. It's already a "muddy" image because of the blurring effect, so adding to this with the dark orange-brown sepia toning is just depressing - IMHO.
