It must have taken some practice to get your camera swirls so small and distinct! I think it is a really cool impression! In my favs.

thanks all for comments. SteveBee - yes, the swirls created from a quick near-circular movement of camera during exposure. Should clarify my earlier note: only processing in PS was the clone out of blown highlight, as I wrote in submission note. One big challenge for me with 1/4 s shutter shooting in direction of sun was trying to locate the right spot for me to shoot from so only dappled direct sun hit sensor (so I got little circles of light, not big, blown blobs) and yet still maintain the compositional perspective I wanted.

Just the right amount of blur. I like the way the highlights jump out.

Are the swirls that are especially visible in the highlights the result of camera movement during exposure? It's a very interesting and impressionistic effect. High in my favs.

the light rings caused by the lens make for an interesting picture

A very well composed shot! Love the swirly patterns, I've tried this before, and it's pretty cool! A very elegant staircase that you've captured really sets this image off, along with the abundant yellow floral display, and the tree to the right, Well done. This is my 2nd pick.

I'm not blown away by the image as a whole although I thinks it's fairly good but I absolutely love the little circle effects.

Do your best impression of the impressionistic art style. This fits the topic well but also looks a little like a blurred image than art style. But the circular effect probably saves it since it gives,

The appearance of quickly painted surfaces.
The appearance of short brushstrokes.
Separating colors and letting the eye's perception mix them.

Shot obtained with quick circular motion during exposure. No PP in PS. Apart from getting the camera movement right, the biggest challenge, since I was shooting with sun in front of me, was to be sure no large open spaces between the tree leaves were in the shot during the camera's trajectory. When this was not the case, there was a huge, blown clear spot in the image. Lucky we shoot digitally; took over 120 tries before I got this one the way I wanted it.
