I appreciate the votes and your comments everyone. I love Milky Way shots, and have attempted several - but this one in particular came together in ways even I didn't expect. It is my certainly my favorite of 2017, but probably one of the best (if not the best) photo I've produced in years.

One of my biggest disappointments about the FZ1000 is the introduction of unwanted noise and grain, even at ISO 400, which compromises your ability to crop telephoto shots like this.

About the terribly unflattering pose; I dunno . . . I think another Egret might find it very sexy!

Too bad this is such an underappreciated image. I loved its visual power.

Lovely image. Well done. The mist in the background adds wonderful atmosphere.

Great composition and color with an interesting subject. Unfortunately, I can't tell if resolution is severely compromised (pixelation is clearly evident) - or you tried to make it look more like a painting. It think it could actually look better if it was more painterly like.

Wonderful capture. I bit grainy is my only critique - but that may have not been avoided.

What a great image; unusual and rare, I would think. Being slightly out of focus will cost you points, however.

Well I'll be darned! Art mimicking reality -- or reality mimicking art? Couldn't honestly put this at the top of my list, but definitely am giving it points for a creative image.

Love old cars like this and love the framing - EXCEPT cutting off part of the the top of the car in the background!

Great image; well balanced; properly saturated colors and perfectly exposed. I find it holds my interest staring at it for an extended period. Well done!

Nice image; too bad it's overexposed and the sky is blown.

To me, this image has much more potential as a smaller cropped image (maybe a good portion of the right corner, with the person cropped out?). The intensity of the orange hue is also a bit overwhelming - although I don't know how much of this could be modified with a White Balance adjustment.

Your own statement is perfect and matches my reaction: "I love the simplicity and symmetry of this image and all that it evokes". Great choice.

Funny - this image was much more interesting to me before I looked at the enlarged photo and saw all the humans. Perhaps I was hoping for something more mysterious? Still - it did catch my eye.

Nice composition; the lines all work together with the perspective's "vanishing point". Well managed exposure and contrast in B&W. Although technically well done - personally, the unforgiving rigidity of lines in this complex building makes it visually less appealing to me than something more "organic" or fluid. I won't, however, penalize the photographer for not accommodating to my personal tastes, as I'm sure there are others who find this level of structural detail interesting.

Beautiful image and colors; nice composition; lovely to look at. I can image this hanging in a prominent place in someone's home.

While the subject itself (and the foreground) has some interest - the background drabness of the sky and the two people who kind of "photo bombed" your shot detracts from the potential of this image.

Besides being a bit overexposed, I think this is one of those shots where the image in your eyes was more interesting than what the camera captured.
