The view may not be spectacular, but I tend to focus on the Orchids. They seem to do well with the indirect light.

It is whatever your imagination tells you it is. BUT..... there are 3 of them, I fully expect a first place finish!! ( chuckle ). Now then...where is that box? I gotta stop editing while thinking outside the box!!! I really didn't like the shot without the effects so if I have caused anyone to be curious or look at things differently thats as much of a win as anything! Lotsa fun this time around! Thanks for the feedback!

Lesson learned. Vignettes do not a tunnel make. But I like the shot anyway! Thanks for the comments.

Bright Bold Color!! Catches your immediate attention, and keeps it.

Thanks to all for voting/participating here at Panachallenge. I was hoping for a long shot of the creek, but it just reminded me of a creek, not of wet. When I added the soft focus to accentuate the reflections it changed the entire perspective to a more "wet" type perspective. It could have place higher OR lower, but in any case I am pleaed with this shot overall.
I think that also answers mrsawer question. (The soft focus rather than DOF)

I could not resist the irony of an "available" sign displayed over a street performers head. I think it was a perfect touch to the shot! Worth the low score as it is now one of my favorite shots!

A simple case of more good than bad. I knew I would be torn apart over the feet, however I loved the lines of the dancers with the vertical lines of the background combined with the bright outfit and mysterious mask.
A big thanks to all who saw past the obvious and threw a vote my way!
( as always a big thanks to all who participate here at panachallenge! )

The "effects" work well on this shot.

I would have cropped a bit more off both sides to remove the brackets, But I think the simplicity and angle of the shot are fantastic. Well done!

Still number one in my eyes. I hope you don't mind that I have added this to my screensavers. It deserved a spot in the TT. Can we get a recount?

Originally taken for a contest with the topic of "Emergency". It was titled "sh!t happens" When the mid year "Best of" was announced my initial response was "Oh great.... a mid year best of challenge and I got nothing but crap to enter"..... Somehow I found this shot appropiate! LOL
Original "score" was a 5.43, placed 14 out of 36 at DPChallenge, where I put in occasional plugs for membership here at panachallenge! Glad it caused a grin and a giggle!

Thanks for the votes, comments and considerations. I am surprised that the "rounded corners" drew so much attention. I may look for a chance to use them again! LOL
Please continue participation here at panachallenge and spread the word around.

It's a LIME! The yellow/green was natural...the discoloration towards the upper left side was a "bruise"which is also natural I s'pose. It was kinda forgotten in the bottom of the fridge so it's "freshness" was a bit suspect, however after slicing, it was fine and went well with tequila shots!

Tied for 35th out of 38 entries???
I was not expecting a blue ribbon here, but this shot deserved better. However thanks go out to Betty Boop, Roland B and Valentin for their votes, and to the administration for keeping the site running.

The minimalism and title of this shot helped to get it on my TT. The extra info bumped it up a notch or two.
Well done and good luck.

I Think a crop closer to the left side and top of screen, plus a bit off the right side would have made the audience and lack of audience more prevalent. However I like the overall feeling this shot presents and it made my TT. Well done and good luck!

Disclaimer: This photo is not intended to offend or make any political statement. Although I fully realize the potential double meaning of the title,(and used it purposly,) The reality is I had access to a ragged stained and faded flag and thought it would fit the theme. That is all. Thank you.

Thanks to everyone for their votes and participation. Considering the beautiful shots in this challenge I was not expecting this! Thanks again!
..... and a top 5 does lessen the trouble the teen is in, this time! LOL
