really, really nice. Especially the post-processing you appear to have done. Look forward to reading about that after the vote.

I like this and would have liked it more if (especially) the peeling paint would have been sharper, in focus. Texture big here.

Stick with what I think is the best approach, NEAT. Show us what resonates with you, not what might score well. Your entries are wonderful going that route...

thanks all for the comments. Elliott, yes, Walden was a requirement of one of my high school lit classes as well. Only somewhat later in life though did I really start to appreciate its meaning. This little pond has always reminded me of the work.

Nice. OMG!! AHHH, no internet!!! I'll chalk it up to the fact that she is working. Otherwise, loose the phone hon and look around at the surrounding majesty.

I really like the composition and the message you have created here! Right on theme. Need to dec. exposure and perhaps up contrast a bit for more pop.

effective - on theme and meaningful. Little busy - art on wall, doll and flowers.

Like the concept; I once shot several similar (lighting trees in the night). Only I did not have wonderful moon like you do. Plus I used a continuous light (near home, so I plugged in a daylight-balanced flood).

Near branches too soft, fiddle with settings to go up a bit from f4.

Like! Some might not as they want to see more face. I do not. Little facial adds to the sense of solitude...

great colors and balance. Prefer this to your other entry. Even like the filter you used to soften focus slightly?

great choice for this challenge (wish these babies grew near my house!). Great feeling. Little nit picky, but, lost some sharpness foreground. f4.5 not quite enough...

This is very nice and has a wonderful solitudinous feel. Think I'd like it even more if perspective had been more from the left facing photo, capturing more empty benches and less deadspace in right side of the shot

Like your subject matter. Wonder if you had shot from more to the left in your frame, thus capturing more the the bench or benches, and as a bonus, separating the man from the tree. Think I would have preferred that look.

like the composition, subject and the feel. Color balance looks off: too blue/purple. Forgive me if you were trying to filter shot like that, if so, I simply prefer bit more natural color.

the blur adds interest and, at least to me, a stronger sense of solitude. Some of my best shots are serendipitous. Like the composition, lighting. [If you really want to speed up your shutter BTW to eliminate blur, WAY crank up the iso, open up you aperture more and see what you can do].

If possible, I would have composed without the bench and more water in shot. This might have also afforded you opportunity to not cut off top of the beautiful mountains. There are plenty of times I'd like to find my house in a location like this though!

MrS: I did not remove all color. I did desaturate to a limited degree but protected the exit signs from this process. Think the relatively vibrant signs accentuate the color contrast (plus it's an otherwise rather drab hallway to begin with, not to mention the awful 5000K lights above).
