wow. thanks for the comments and voting. was surprised no one mentioned the two things that bothered me after i posted the entry. i'm certainly not going to bring it up now.
it was a fun day with cameras on the water. and if you ever get down here with free time, get in touch with me and we'll paddle out there.
thanks again.

      nice one for the challenge.
we were in new mexico recently and unfortunately missed the changing of the aspen trees but the cottonwood trees were full on yellow to light orange for the whole time we were out there. it was great for me as florida may be lush and tropical but no real drama in changing of seasons.

the thing about those long walks down to get somewhere..... the longer walk back up.
nice shot. great location with calm water reflected.

personally a bit claustrophobic for me but a quiet serene spot for some. good capture for the theme. in my favorites.

did a quick search on this trying to find out where you were. i had no idea there were so many castings of the thinker.

i don't know how many times i've tried to get this concept and not come up with my 'keeper'.

thanks for your comments and input. i did get some more 'balanced' shots that day but liked this one more for the backlighting on the paddler against the dark portion of the background. maybe i can find another for the out takes.

very nice capture. i think i'd crop off the lower quarter with the two small waves to reduce the tension and make it seem calmer. just my thoughts.
high in my favorites for sure.

i want to like this more.
a bit dark and maybe could use straightening in my opinion.
did you try any exposures without the filter? my old kodak can do infrared with this filter fairly well. my newer cameras would have to be modified to get results i'd be happy with.

i like it. and i don't mind the effect at all. (if i ever get to choose a theme i'll suggest all entries need to use an effect whether from those built in ones on the camera or some editing program.) they give us these tools and we barely use them.

a few more leaves on the trees and i'd want to print this big for the living room wall.

i'm guessing you used ultra wide lens or panorama effect although as my eyes see it, it could make for a very interesting architectural design.

great capture for the challenge.

      that's one heavy duty bench!

great shot for the challenge. haze works perfectly to soften everything. and the colors look like pulled from a classic painting.
nice capture.
