      Thank you Mepo and Lo.

Jade O : I found this contest seems legit and helps to fund canine cancer research.

Wow, thank you very much for your votes and wonderful comments.
It was a smooth, pristine snowbank when we started.
On my knees in the snow I tossed the ball over the top and captured her returning. 20 plus tries , with numb knees I gave it one last go and this is it.

Phil99 : Thank you for taking the time to delve into such detail of the image.
You mention a couple of things I hadn't noticed myself.
Serendipity definitely played a part in this capture proving that persistence leaves the door open so success can enter.

Jade O : If I could find a legit contest I would enter it.

Mrsawyer: Love the metaphor.

KJW and RolandB : Good eye on the sky, I should have noticed it.

LO and dk : Ill put the original in the forum

And a beautiful Bitch indeed !
A fantastic portrait in large part due to the great lighting.
Somehow the blown whites on the bottom works for me,

A classic shot well composed and nice timing on the wings, but a bit too blue on my monitor.

You've captured an interesting moment that tells a story.
Sharp focus but I long to zoom in.

Jade o : The whole rink is bathed in blue light and I do admit stepping too heavily on the saturation pedal 'cause blue is my favorite color . :)
Lo : Good suggestion, much easier than any alternative solutions I pondered.
forkcandles: Thank you for the kind words.

Thank you for the votes and kind words.
Great challenge !
This was a new technique for me and it took a lot of shooting to get the hang of it.

Jade O and elliot : thank you for taking the tine to comment.
forkcandles : I didn't now the technique was called camera writing. Gee yesterday I couldn't spell camera writer, and today I are one. LOL
I think of it as reverse light painting since the light is painted directly on the sensor instead of on the subject.
kardstrtr : Great interpretation, thanks.
KJW : It's all about the camera being motionless for the first few milliseconds to burn in the sign then using what time is left to do some quick manuvering. This was my first attempt at something like this and it took MANY practice shots before I achieved the eureka ! moment.

You nailed it ! (pun intended).
I tried a similar technique but gave up in frustration, and switched to waving the camera around at the night lights of the city. Your results are well worth your efforts .

WOW ! Thanks for all the votes and kind words, what a great surprise !
I did a lot of experimenting bouncing lights around and converting images to B/W.
When I stumbled on this combination I knew I had something.
Some would call it serendipity :)

A great fantasy shot. What fun to explore the detail in this image !
The reflections in the bubbles are "wow" !
The overall image speaks to me of galaxies and wormholes.
All happening in a common sink drain.
Whodah thunk it.
