Thanks for the votes and comments!

I'd hurriedly got onto my bicycle 90 minutes before the deadline and rode past some people on this path. I looked back and saw the sun through the trees and decided to get a quick photo before the people got there. I thought I'd made it in time until I got ready to choose my shot to upload, and there they were. I thought they added a nice touch without being too distracting.

There is bench just behind where I stood to take the photo. I often get the feeling when riding by that my deceased father is sitting there. I'm not sure what that means. I just experience it and don't try to figure it out.

Thanks for the comments and votes. There was a feature where the water was flowing from, that should have been the focal point, but it wasn't very attractive.
Good eye aoc46. I actually went back recently to see if there was a stop sign in the distance. Turns out it was a crosswalk sign that I'd not noticed.

Congrats on tying for 5th place!

Having just returned from a doctor's appointment, I get the sense of xrays instead of calmness, but I'm sure it will grow on me later! (smile)

Good point of view. I wish the woman had been holding a book instead of a phone.... ahhhh, but it is 2017.
Congrats on capturing another great find.

Congrats on your good work and a high finish. Your blending of the two exposures was certainly worth the effort!

Looks like a great place to sit and reflect. Kudos on your high finish. If you have time, show us what this looks like with reduced saturation. hmmmm ?

Congrats on your 2nd place finish. I would love to see how how your original photo looked. Perhaps you can let me see it in the outtakes forum.

Hey, glad you happened to have your camera with you when you came across this scene!!!

Were the colors this rich before the levels adjustment?
What did you improve upon by adjusting the levels? (just wondering in case there is something others may want to try in their photos.)

Nothing like the "golden hour!" Congrats on your fine finish and a beautiful entry.

Looks like we may have worked out that focal length reporting problem. Do you agree?

Would have liked to have had a less obstructed view. Fits the theme though.

Interesting that the observer is a life guard looking at the coffin.

The brightness of the sky distracts from viewing the lower half of the photo. Did you intend the clouds to be the focal point for the viewer? It certainly looks quiet and peaceful there.

Fortunately, you found a shady place on your sunny day. It looks quite serene. There is too much brightness on the right upper area. Perhaps cropping such that the main two lower rays remain may have worked.

This is a fine profile of the main subject. He certainly looks silent, but it is not clear that rest of the crowd is following his lead.
Without the caption and extra info, I wouldn't know that silence was going on overall. I suppose that when one sees a crowd of people, we anticipate noise more so than silence. An exception that comes to mind would be a crowd with heads bowed in prayer.

Thanks for the comments and votes. In my haste to get the entry in, I only concentrated on enhancing the bike and paid no attention to the sky. Although, I kind of like the weird sky, as it is a departure from my norm.
