Thanks a lot, dear friends, for your votes and comments.
It's always an enjoyment to be here. I wallow in pleasure! (learned a new word...) :-D
When I took this picture I was ill and tried to distract myself from feeling bad. Maybe that caused the high number of shots. But I also took them in burst mode. That where at least 4 pictures every drop - most of them much too early or too late.
The shape of this splash came by mere chance and I liked it from the first moment. Happy you liked it too!

Congratulations!! 100 tries - but the result was sure worth it. You should get a medal for your determination.

Wow, a hundred takes! Practise does indeed make perfect. Congratulations!

Congratulations once again ! Great photo. The splash I mentioned was in reference to your entry in challenge 65. I thought that was how you achieved the effect but I like the ice cube idea better.

Hi friends, thank you all very much for your nice comments.
LOL, yes this wasn't easy to get... Haha, Michael, there was no clever timing involved - like fc suggested I needed more than a hundred trials and this result was one of the last shots. A lot of splashes and a lot of mess. :-D
Jade, I couldn't show more of the glass' stem, because I put it in the middle of the biggest plate I found (a baking sheet) to keep the mess a little bit under control. To see the sheet would have surely killed the atmosphere...
Lo, no rotating this time. I just dropped ice cubes and hoped for a nice effect. ;-)
Thank you all. I'm glad you like it!

So that's what they mean when they say: "I'll have a splash of orange juice."

Well done.

Easy and difficult, in my tt.

This is outstanding! I'm guessing that you were moving the glass in a circle to get that effect. I wouldn't dare try it - I'd have juice all over the wall in no time. Your dexterity deserves a high placement.

Nice concept and framing and wonderful colour and background which really add punch to this one. But I find the "cut" stem bothersome. I think a whole glass might have made me feel better but it may be the splash would have been too small on the canvass. In any event, top ten.

Excellent. I know how difficult this is. My #1

Great photo (once again). How on earth did you get the timing so perfect, did you spin the glass to get the "splash" :-) My no. 2

The pictures simplicity hides the skill in getting the timing right. wonder how many times?
