Thanks to all who voted and took the time to comment.

I think I'll have to try it without the silhouette just to see what happens. I think the NIK Coler Efex automatically added it and I didn't even notice.

This was fun. It was so cold (for me, about the high 40's) if I hadn't taken my coffee with me.. well, I don't even want to think about it :)

Again, thank you all.

I think your moon is a bit too large. All else is fine. Good luck!

Love everything except the too-large, too-clear moon. Understand the impulse to edit it in, but would have been stronger (IMO) if it had been smaller and blended into the atmosphere. My #2 pick in a strong field!

Extraordinary photo. A lesson in nature. Definitely in my top favs.

i like what you were trying to do here. i think the moon is a bit too bright and crisp though considering the amount of haze in the air. i'd like to see the original.

Nice feeling in the picture, very interesting. Was the moon photographed during the contest period?

WOW! stunning scene, great composition and well done in such difficult conditions, you are probably a master dodge and burn artist, one small thins is that IMHO the vignette is a little too dark.

What an amazing sight, and a difficult one to capture I would think!

I was drawn to this immediately and have likes and dislikes. The composition and framing are fine and the subject is great. But the vignette is way overdone (in my view anything you notice right away is overdone) and for me detracts a lot. Also feel the image is not sharp enough though at 1/80s it seems you've done well to get this much detail.

a really good result. when i first saw it i thought the moon was an add on but makes the picture work

Very well done. This is just a wonderful image. I figured you'd have to have added the moon. All the way around this is really excellent work.
