Thanks for all the positive comments, but also for the critiques (here and on the other side) that were right-on and helpful. There is no photograph that can't be improved.

This was one of my top picks. Simple, yet it says so much. A picture is worth a thousand words? Composition and colors are striking. I really love this.

I'm with aKliter. This is a fine shot. Visually remarkable. The contrast of colors, especially the yellow/brown and dark brown is wonderful.

This is a deceptively good photo, that I'm afraid might get overlooked in this challenge. There's plenty of decay and placement of the window is very good. However, it's the inclusion of the angled edge of the tiled roof, in the upper left corner....that makes this such a good composition.

The processing suits the subject and shows off the neglect, with the small area of blue sky being the only part of the image that looks over cooked. This is one of my favorite images in this challenge.

Love the textures! I'm glad you went closer and focused on a part of the house.

    Nicely framed, almost abstract.

I like the simplicity of the composition and the focus on a particular detail -- the window -- as your focal point for the image. However, the red and blue in the corner immediately draws the eye up and out of the frame. If you want to include that element you should shoot wider to include more of the roof line or compose differently to make it the dominant element. You also could have desaturated the bright colors or duo-toned the image to keep the focus on the window.

Good choice to go simple with this image. Nice composition and colors; I could even stand a bit more sky and the roof line's tile corner, but great also just as is. High in my favorites.
