At our local zoo. I was very glad of the thick sheet of glass between me and the tiger. He looked rather irate.

Congrats. Great expression - not something I would want to meet coming round the corner.

This is a terrific shot, and really does convey the impression that the viewer is the target. Congratulations.

Thanks. In fact double thanks as I noticed you voted my Main entry #1 as well.

Thanks for all the kind comment. The tiger was pacing a fairly tight circle around and around the bushes so I got several attempts shooting him in the position I wanted. I was concentrating so much on timing the shot that I missed the focus a bit (Jade O.), but fortunately not too badly. I was trying to convey the sense of suddenly meeting this tiger on a trail as he appears around the bushes. The meeting is coincidental. He isn't hunting you, YET. But you're very close to him and standing right in his path.

Great photo. The closeness unnerves me a bit. you shot this at only 61 mm focal length? yikes!

You've captured him beautifully, despite taking the photo through thick glass. Tremendous shot.

beautiful shot that "removes" the glass and make us feel the danger

I'd suggest a much tighter crop on the tiger to put him in a rule of thirds ratio. This would concentrate on his irritation more effectively.

Lovely sharpness - they must clean the glass well!
Great pose, love the way it is 'emerging from the forest'

Yikes! Maybe you had a thick sheet of glass, but I felt he might jump out of my screen. A very dramatic and compelling shot, well-taken.

It is nice to see a tiger in motion and you have that here. The blurred paw adds to the sense of motion and the in focus an comparatively sharp face adds to the sense of a dynamic shot. The actual focus appears to be on the foreground vegetation so clearly a little more focus behind would have really made this one pop. Impossible to tell this is a zoo shot and could easily have been in the wild which makes it quite stunning. (I've had the experience of actually having an adolescent male lion pop out like this from the other side of the trail and it is extremely unnerving. He gave us a wide birth and continued on his way but this evoked that emotional trigger for me; at that moment you know he can react and be on top of you faster than you can react to do anything about it so you are completely helpless.)

It looks very determined to challenge you. Remarkable sharpness for a photograph through glass.

Woa, talk about intimidating! Would hate to walk into that on a path! Great colors and detail.
