Adjusted Brightness, Contrast and Exposure a little. Cropped, Downsized and Sharpened
Extra Info:
Looking straight down into the bowl of the wine glass, with the glass lit from below (sitting on LED light panel). The black ring is the end view of the stem of the wine glass. Interestingly some light travels up the centre of the stem but not all of the stem is illuminated.

I think we may have a similar set of glassware. I find this view of an empty glass far too familiar. :-))

Thanks for all the comments. I considered cropping it tighter on the right to eliminate some of the less sharp area, but in the end i liked the long arcs on that side. I've been meaning to have a go at focus stacking and this might be a good one to start with.

I like your choice of monochrome and an off-centre view. Interesting patterns!

Love this, great idea and execution.
Did you consider a square crop to reduce the out of focus area on the right?
Definite high in my TT

Lovely pattern in black and white.

An intriguing design that looks sort of like an elaborate sunburst. The heavy black in the image makes it look less like crystal than some sort of stone or metal. I wonder if a color rendition might have preserved the transparency of the glass.

While I'm not a fan of cut glass, this is a rather nice photo from a composition standpoint and while I wish the facets were sharper, I understand this is an authentic rendering of cut glass.

I like this in B&W which is well-suited for subject. Interesting patterns in this piece. Sharpness falls off on the right due to DOF or possibly plane of sensor is not perfectly parallel to plane of subject.

Good detail and composition. The cuts make these look like ferns or some other type of leaf fronds.

forkcandles: I really didn't know if this was lead crystal or not so I checked on Google. Turns out that all crystal is leaded and has to contain at least 24% lead to be called crystal. Who knew :-).

the use of an external light source works well for me . the straight stem sucking the light up with detail of the cut glass.
the glass cut looks like its lead crystal
