Post-Processing: Combined multiple exposures of the same shot using Nik HDR Efex Pro 2 plug-in in Photoshop. Adjusted brightness and contrast. Downsized and Sharpened       Extra Info: A large mirror in our bathroom has a set of five vanity lights mounted above it. Here, a flashlight pointed upwards casts shadows of the lampshades and mounting plate and brackets onto the ceiling. The darker shadows are caused by light coming directly from the flashlight, while the lighter shadows are from light reflected off the mirror. Bracketed exposures of the same shot were combined using the Nik HDR Efex Pro 2 plug-in in Photoshop.

Apr 19, 2021		     Thanks ysal but you're too kind. I couldn't get the flashlight quite as far away from the lights as I would have liked, which resulted in some ghosting around the edges of the lower row of shadows which I find a bit distracting. I'd have voted my entry fifth or maybe even sixth.

Apr 19, 2021		     Thanks for all the great comments. I was wandering around our house shining a flashlight at anything and everything to see if it produced any shadows usable for the challenge, and was really surprised when a simple light fixture, coupled with the mirror, produced such complicated shadows. So not as much a great eye (ysal), as panicky perseverance, a little luck, and a dash of desperation, as the challenge deadline approached. The light fixture is a cheap, mass produced item and not assembled completely symmetrically (breadmaker), at least that's my story and I'm sticking to it :-). Love the idea of the dancing stick figures carrying huge balloons (aoc46). (Mepo) I do have a version with the bottom cropped as you describe but decided I liked this crop marginally better. How to crop my entries always gives me fits though. I can never quite decide what looks best.

Apr 16, 2021		     I love how the flashlight and the mirror create the interplay of double, overlapping shadows. They create a very pleasing and interesting abstract.
