  #245 Intentional Camera Movement

1s, f22, ISO 200, 14mm, Manual, Center Weighted Average, no flash

Post-Processing: Raw image developed in LR. Highlights reduced to balance and Dehaze used to increase midtone contrast.       Extra Info: This was shot handheld. The camera was rotated during the exposure nearly 180 degrees. It took many attempts to get the center of rotation almost dead center and the symmetry almost perfect. I like that the line frequency flicker of the light provides both distinctness and motion blur at the same time.

Congrats, it is a great picture.
Thanks for clarifying your 'twist first then unwind' method. I'll bear it in mind.

That is such a cool effect. The blue tubes look like pipes used to connect the vacuum cleaner in a swimming pool.

This was an extremely difficult shot to make - Congratulations on getting it just right.

Congrats - John had it right - I couldn't think about what it reminded me of.

Really well done! Colour is everything here. Would make a great Album cover!

Congrats. Now this one I was positive was yours. Actually ended up my #2, although it was really a toss up between this and johncomyn/s "Burning" for my #1.

Beautiful colours and I like the 'spring' effect.

I can imagine how hard it was to get the rotation just right. It worked out well.

kerszkavet and others: I twisted my wrists as much as possible before pressing the shutter and then unwound them during the exposure. I found that works best.

How did you manage such a circular rotation? Whenever I tried the camera pointed off in different directions....
Great idea, executed well and lovely colours.

Wow - this is quite an accomplishment with a hand held shot. Excellent colour and detail, and great control.

Nice colors and design. Very impressive that you were able to do this handheld - I attempted a similar technique and gave up after a few tries.

Kudos to you for succeeding in this technique. I tried a few shots but gave up quickly since I could not maintain the center of the camera in one spot. Great colors. Is there a reason you stopped at 180 degrees?
