Post-Processing:
Adjusted levels, exposure, brightness and contrast. Downsized and sharpened
Extra Info:
Held the camera with the clock in the left position for 6 secs, moved it so the clock was in the central position for 4 secs, and finally moved it so the clock was in the right position for 2 secs. Took about a million shots :-).

Thanks for all the great comments.
kerszkavet: I was trying some other subjects that weren't working too well and this was rather a last minute inspiration, so I only had time to try and perfect this one approach. So no shots building from left to right, I'm afraid. If I'd had a little more time I'd have liked to re-shoot it with a plain background (as you suggest), and a screen of some sort behind the camera to eliminate the reflections from the glass which are a bit distracting, I think.
Lo: Your enthusiastic comments make the million shots worthwhile. Thanks
aoc46: I should have titled it "Time Lapse".

That is an interesting technique. I like the phantom clocks.

great idea and it makes an interesting picture.
I'd have considered a plain background as i think the wood grain becomes intrusive, but it is a definite favourite.
in your million shots, did you try any the other way, i.e. building up from left to right? would be interested to see any in outtakes.

This is beautifully done. I can't imagine the patience and dexterity it took to manage this shot. Excellent result, and a beautiful example of ICM.

Nicely executed, but I think a single side-to-side motion would have paid off your title better.

I know what you mean. I must have taken several hundred to get the shot I liked. So many variables. This came out very well. And you got the main clock in focus, which was the hardest part for me.
