Great shot Bill, and do you keep all your cracked glasses ? :) I like it very much - well done!

Congrats on a great finish Bill!
This wasn't in my TT because, as I commented on other entries, I was looking for some "human factor" in this particular challenge, and tried to vote according to that idea... but, apart from that, your pic is absolutely great, fantastic macro, and wonderful, cracked blues. Please ignore my own thinkings :-) it's no doubt a worthy second place, great job!!!

Thanks Jade, Lo, LaRee, and Franz. Very nice of you all to send along encouragement. I like submitting here, to a group whose opinions and criticisms I respect. But mainly, I am here for the fun. I am happy to finish in the top 5 or even 10 when that happens. A win is not on my mind, but perhaps it will come along in due time. Meanwhile, I enjoy seeing and reviewing the work of a group of very talented photographers!

Congratulations Bill, great picture and deserved ranking.
Jade is right, go for the top now! "Spooky" is still open for entries!!! ;-)

Congrats! I don't know how I missed commenting here before voting was over. I must have thought I posted and miss-keyed. This was my first place pick. The light on the spider, the colors, the cracked glass, everything comes together for me here and fits the theme perfectly.

"Along came a spider..." to 2nd place - congratulations

Bill, you keep finishing in the top ten and keep moving up in the rankings! Congratulations on No. 2! You know the pressure is now on to finish on top next round! Your depth as a photographer is beginning to show! Congratulations on another great finish!

Technical Note: This shot was made with my FZ35/38, not the FZ18 as indicated in the EXIF info. Don't know why that did not register properly. I see that my profile shows FZ18, so I have changed that to FZ38. I don't know if that fixes the problem or not.

Well, I am a bit stunned. I did not think that this had much of a chance of being even in the TT. I wanted to support JadeO's challenge but had very little material. This fellow just showed up in time. Thanks everyone for the support. BTW, the annoying thingy at the bottom of the glass is actually a reflection (I finally figured out) of the windows in the building next door. Did not see it until Mr. Spider was long gone.

Well done. The texture of the glass makes this shot.

Beautiful and unusual picture of an interesting looking spider.
Very well lit, nice colors and perfect for the theme.

I bet she was glad afterwards... In my TT. Very good capture of the spider.

Your choice of glass made this photo for me. Well done! Good fir for the theme. I'm glad we don't have to report you to the SPPCS.

This is a terrific photo for the theme. I especially love the fractured appearance of the glass, and the reflections off it. I find the stripes at the bottom a little distracting, but overall it's a great shot.

Very interesting, the cracked appearance and blue hue really adds interest to what would otherwise be a good, but not great shot.

I like the idea and the execution despite some elements like whatever is under the glass which distract a little; a plain paper might have worked better.
