Bravo, a wonderful idea to present the windows this way. You have shown how a photographer has to be flexible enough to adapt to a particular situation. Welcome to Panachallenge!

Congrats with a top ten finish with your first entry! I agree entirely about the emphasis on the windows. I look forward to seeing more of your photos.

Thank you to everyone for your comments and votes. I would like to explain why I left the room rather dark. The room itself has many things of interest and when lightened it makes the photo very busy. As I took this image with the windows challenge in mind I wanted to keep the emphasis on the windows. I only lightened the room enough to give a hint as to the context for the windows. Had the image been about the room I would have used different lighting but this one was always about the windows.
This room is in Old Government House, Adelaide Hills, South Australia, built as a summer cottage for the Governor in 1860.

The composition is great - the paper left at the table is a nice touch. The stately windows add to the elegance of the room. I wish the lighting were a bit better as I would love to see more of the details.

Nice pace. The darkness suits to the old feeling. In my TT

Elegant windows. I like the contrast between the bright windows and the darker interior, and the reflection in the table top.

An intriguing scene. Keeping the room dark makes the windows stand out, as they should for this theme.

What a lovely room! I'd love to know what this place is. I like the dark atmosphere to bring out the windows.

Quite an opulent setting but sadly hard to make out as it is quite dark. Bringing up the shadows works quite well, but a spot of bracketing at the time and a touch of HDR would have worked better.

A striking image of windows. I love the way that the image is lighted. I suspect high tea in this room is a great experience. Nicely done all around.
