Thanks for the votes and comments. This was taken at almost dark, so I used the on-cam flash at a reduced power. I had a difficult time deciding how to crop it. I originally wanted the large leaf at a rule of thirds boundary, but wanted to keep some of the smaller leaves in view.

I love the crisp details and the warm colours against the black. Fits the challenge perfectly.

Lovely warm earthy tones suits the dry leaves. Great work with the lighting.

I think this is beautifully done. The colours are rich, the detail is excellent, and the black provides a perfect backdrop as negative space.

Like the colors and detail in the leaves. Might prefer the most prominent leaf to be less centered.

Lovely tone and texture, nicely lit, but the center placement leave me feeling it was the wrong framing. Nice and sharp otherwise and really technically well taken.

Love the lighting and I think having just two tones (brown and black) help the sense of negative space.

meets the brief very well. the framing of the leaf and the use of the sunlight works very well.
I had hoped to get something similar but was frustrated by the weather and access to hedgerows due to self isolating
