Panasonic DMC-GX8       6th place, 109 points
1/80s, f7.1, ISO 100, 28mm, Aperture Priority, Pattern, no flash

Post-Processing: RAW files converted with Adobe RAW. increased shadows, decreased highlights, increased contrast; filter-unsharp mask; curves. Used same settings for 3 images that only differed in focus. Loaded the 3 files into a stack and aligned the layers; auto-blend the layers in Photoshop.Transform-skew;; cropped the final image and converted to black and white.       Extra Info: This focused stacked picture is composed of three images of a stair case leading to a train platform that only differed in focus.

You have the perspective of looking down on the scene whilst the light casting the shadows has an entirely different perspective.

Great idea for this theme and very well executed. I love the b/w and the shadows. If you made a very little step to the left to center all handrails it could have been even more cool imho.

A sensational play of light! I like it very much.

    Great shadows and tones.
Very busy, but interesting.

The angle you have chosen really accentuated the vertical drop in the staircase.
Using B&W is a great choice.

I really like the idea but the shot is awfully busy. Possibly not an option, but shooting this on a cloudy day would remove all the shadows and simplify the shot.

Nice shot, great in B&W. All the lines, including the shadows creates a great image.

this is a good entry, one in real life would have me handing onto the banister. I would preferred the main banister in in focus with out of focus giving back ground more depth. the mono treatment works very well
