nothing but only a little bit sharpening after downsizing
Extra Info:
This big old fellow isn't standing upright. Actually it leans on its brothers and sisters since a storm last winter. The picture doesn't show this clearly ... but maybe you can see it now?

I remember a Robert Capa quote: "If your pictures aren't good enough, you aren't close enough."
This is wonderfully close enough! Love the colors, texture and lighting.

Thanks for the notes. I wouldn't have realised that it is not truly vertical. I love the moss garden growing on the trunk.

I do see your point now, but I if shooting from slightly to one side wouldn't make what's going on more obvious.

Thank you all very much for your nice and helpful comments!
out_of_focus, that' a very good suggestion - but I took the shot with my smartphone, which has no possibility to change aperture (I think...).
SteveBee, I took both shots, focus on the moss and focus to the top of the tree. The one with sharp moss looked nicer to my eye and had more of an unusual viewpoint.
Michael, you are a real poet. Thank you for your nice comment. You brightened my day!

A sensational, unusual autumn perspective! Saturated colors and real imaging of what we really see

The detail in the moss really caught my eye, and the leading lines took me to the beautiful colours of the foliage. Well done.

Interesting perspective and I like the colours.

Great shot.
The bright green moss contrasts well with the blue sky and the autumnal leaves - brought together by a great angle.

It's a perspective I like to photograph when I'm around trees but the textures and colours in this shot are very attractive. The choice of aperture heightens the height despite the trees plight and results in delight. . . and also gets my vote.

i see you wanted to use shallow focus.
perhaps i would have done f5.6

I find the moss intriguing. If I really try, I see a triangular cutout in the middle of this photo which looks down on a grassy field.

good result and looking carefully you can see the lean with the younger trees more vertical. captured so nice colours as well

I think I would have changed focus point to the top of the tree instead of the bottom. You want where the eye is drawn to be in focus. Also, you could have focus stacked to get the whole tree in focus.
